Story: Cop Dev Pratap Sharma (Vikram) has just one mission in his life. He wants to capture the local outlaw, Beera (Abhishek Bachchan) who may be a Robin Hood for the tribals around, nevertheless, he is a law breaker. More importantly, he has kidnapped the cop's beautiful wife, Ragini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) to avenge a personal grouse and has escaped into the dense jungles. Turn ofevents: the kidnapper falls in love with his trophy victim who too gets indecisive about where her loyalties lie....

Movie Review: The epics return again to contemporary cinema. After a re-telling of the Mahabharata against a political backdrop in Prakash Jha's Raajneeti, cineastes can now feast their eyes on a modern-day rewrite of the Ramayana, against a cops-and-robbers canvas.

Feast? Yes. The high point of Mani Ratnam's film is primarily its visual opulence. The film is literally a work of art where one luminescent frame follows another as the scenes keep shifting from one wet and rocky landscape to another misty mountainscape. You can't seem to get enough of the montages that leave you breathless with the excellent camera artistry by Santosh Sivan and Manikandan. From the opening sequences where Beera (Abhishek) smashes his boat into wide-eyed Aishwarya's canoe, to the fleeing, flinging, fulminating visage of Aishwarya, captured against wild waterfalls, turbulent tidal rivers, crumbling trees and silken drizzle, the film is a string of breath taking images. So much so, you seem to forget -- and almost forgive -- the fact that the first half hardly has any story. It is essentially just one prolonged chase, where cop Dev (Vikram) relentlessly pursues criminal Beera (Abhishek Bachchan) in order to rescue his wife (Ragini) and book the fugitive who garners great local support.

Paiya Movie Review Online: “Paiya’ is an urban story and tells the interesting events happening in the lives of a pair of lovers (Karthi and Tamanna). Besides, Milind Soman and Sonia Deepti are playing pivotal roles. The movie was widely shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

Paiya is all set to hit the screens on April 2nd Worldwide. Paiya stars Karthik Shivakumar and Tamanna in the lead roles. Music is scored by mass Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The suspense element is when an unknown person joins their three days journey and unexpected twists and interesting things, happen during the journey.

The flashback of this movie is another key element which has been screened in a very colourful way.

A song “Suthudhey Suthudhey Boomi”, choreographed by Sabeena Khan, is expected to be one of the highlights of the movie. It was shot at Prasad Studios in Chennai, where a grand set was erected by art director Rajeevan.

However, thanks to computer graphics and visual effects, the background of the song will change to dense forests and lush mountain ranges, it is said. A rain song “Adada Mazhaida”, featuring Karthi and Tamanna, was shot at the Athirappilly waterfalls recently.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya Review | Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya Movie Review

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a Tamil film directed by Gautham Menon. Starring Silambarasan Rajendar and Trisha Krishnan.

The music is given by A. R. Rahman, teaming up with both Gautham Menon and Silambarasan, released on 26 February 2010.

The film is simultaneously made in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave.

The film was shot in many picturesque locations including the beautiful Malta islands near Italy and various locations in the U.S.A including New York City, and various scenic spots in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The movie has been slated for a February 26 release.

But things take an unexpected turn when he falls in love with a Jessie (Trisha); he’s ready to sacrifice his biggest dreams.

Though much hasn’t been divulged about this breezy romantic entertainer, sources reveal that Trisha flies to the US and much like Surya in Vaaranam Aayiram, Simbhu, the assistant director in the film, sets aboard a voyage in pursuit of his love.

For those who’ve already had enough of watching the young rough Silambarasan muttering ‘punch’ dialogues and man-handling 50 men at the same time, here’s something that promises to be unusual of Simbu

Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai Movie Review

With couple of his previous films yielding him lukewarm responses at box office, actor Vishal had seemingly changed his mind to take up unique scripts. Of course, he has stepped out of clichéd formulas and has picked a romantic entertainer.

‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ is about a well educated guy Karthik (Vishal) who wants everything best in his life. Be it a small pen or a shirt, he wants every aspect to be perfect. Similarly, he sets out about falling in love with three girls at the same time and plans to choose one amongst them.

He comes across Priya (Sarah Jane), a girl who believes in pathi parameshwar concept, i.e. about falling in love with a person and marrying him. On pars, there’s Jyothi (Tanushree Dutta), who always has a hatred for all guys and then it’s Tejashwini (Neethu Chandra), one of the hot and happening millionaires in town.On the process of wooing them down, these gals indeed fall in love with him. Now, he’s completely pitted into unexpected troubles as it comes to choosing one amongst them…

Vishal looks pretty decorous with his well-chosen costumes and carries his role well with perfection. Neethu Chandra offers a grand fiesta of glamorous quotients while Tanushree Dutta has a good establishment of her characterization and later gets diminished in course of time. Sarah Jane makes it appealingly blissful with her performance as a cute and lovable girl. However, Neetu Chandra gets more footage throughout the film and keeps getting on well. Santhanam adds to the humor quotients with his rib-tickling comedy tracks, especially in the first hour.

Prakash Raj doesn’t get more scope as he appears not more than 3 scenes.Yuvan Shankar Raja could’ve done a fine job as only couple of songs sound well. Cinematography by Aravind Krishna is excellent while art works and choreography add more colors to the visual quotients.The first half of the movie goes enjoyable while the second half is completely contrastive with a longer duration and more predictable parts.

With Sun Pictures promoting the film with greater magnitude, ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ is sure to make it big in box office for next couple of months.And finally, we mark our verdicts that the film is aptly for ‘B’ and ‘C’ centres while the multiplex audiences may not have a great likeliness for this film.

Asal Tamil Movie Review

Asal is Ajith's 49th film. Its of course a much awaited movie by the Ajith fans. This movie has brought back the old team Ajith and Saran. Also Ajith is the Assistant director of the film. He is also credited for the story, screenplay and dialogues along with Saran and Yuhi Sethu. Sohe has an extra responsibility for the good going of the film.

Asal is a story of riot between three brothers over a property. Two of the brothers (Sampath Kumar and Rajeev Krishna) are constantly fighting for the wealth and the property while the other brother keeps aside and tries to stop the family getting split. The feud existed there in the family right from the father's time and is still continuing even after the death of the father. Both the good son and father's role is played by Ajith. The wealth seems to much for the brothers to handle and they land in trouble. So Ajith comes for their rescue. The rest deals with the climax. For more see the movie Asal.


Sameera Reddy is the heroine in the film. She has no scope of performance in the film but she has enacted her role very well. Bhavana looks pretty in the movie. Ajith as usual is looking glamorous and handsome in the film. Even Sampath, Rajeev and Pradeep has done their roles of villains very well. As far as the story is concerned there is nothing much extra ordinary in it and sometimes it pricks that the cast , especially Ajith is given a priority than the script. Yuhi Sethu tries hard to provide a few comic moments, succeeding partially on the rare occasion; his side kicks trying hard with a few gimmicks as well. Prabhu shows a dignified presence. The only thing to say that its the presence of Ajith in his stylish costumes and accessories that stop one from getting bored.

Technically speaking the shots in France is quite appreciable. The camera has done a wonderful job. The streets and other beautiful sceneries of France is beautifully impressed. Action scenes are not that pleasing and could have been made better. The music by Bharadwaj gives hardly any feelings.

All in all the movie Asal, produced by Sivaji Productions can be categorized as a stylish movie by Ajith. Altogether Ajith has impressed his fans but director Saran disappointed again. The movie is visually pleasing and one can enjoy his time seeing the movie. Don't think too much. Just watch the movie.

Mani Ratnam to direct Silambarasan

Actor Silambarasan seems to be going through a successful phase now. The young actor, of late, seems to have been receiving great offers from maverick filmmakers of Tamil film industry. Though there is a buzz that Simbhu has walked out of K.V. Anand’s Ko, he’s reported to have been completely bowled over by the offer of Mani Ratnam



It seems that the veteran filmmaker has approached Silambarasan to perform the lead role in his next project slated to take off by November. Probably, it is expected to be a bilingual film featuring a hot and happening actor of B-town in lead role for the Hindi version. When approached the spokesperson of Silambarasan, he remained tightlipped mentioning that nothing has been officially confirmed till the moment.

Meanwhile, Simbhu is curiously awaiting the release of his upcoming film Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya slated to hit screens on Feb 19. With Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies acquiring the film’s rights, he has been marketing this film across his satellite channel networks thereby publicizing the film to a bigger audience.

Tamil padam Movie Review

The promos of “Tamil Padam” had indicated everyone that this movie is going to be a spoof on few Tamil movies that had come earlier and due to that this movie had generated expectations to the level no one had even thought it would achieve. With a debutant director and a relatively new hero who has hardly any fan following the makers have taken a huge gamble and in the end the gamble seems to have paid off.

Before stepping into the theatre one must forget the outer world and should embrace themselves for non-stop laughter throughout the movie. Debutant director C S Amudhan who is an engineering graduate has directed this movie without any prior experience and that has indeed been a blessing in disguise else it is very hard to make a film of this nature. Disha Pandey who plays the female lead has absolutely no significant role in this movie as all significance is given to the spoof done by Shiva.

When the movie begins and in the first few minutes the audience gear themselves up for similar kind of actions and the most important thing is that none of the spoofs are boring or repetitive in nature. Shiva a college student has his college going friends in Siddharth (Manobala), Nakul (M S Bhaskar) and Bharath (Venniradai Murthy). They all begin with the Boys movie spoof and continue their mischief to the maximum possible level and the heights being Bharath reading a Java book for his exams. Paravai Muniyamma and Delhi Ganesh also join the party to provide more laughter. Movies that have been spoofed are Thalapathi, Ramana, Mouna Ragam, Chandramukhi, Shivaji, Anniyan and many more.

The spoof not only stops with acting but also with the songs and credit to music director Kannan for a stupendous effort. Nirav Shah has once again been brilliant in handling the camera. All said and done it needs guts and a fresh mind to experiment and kudos to producer Dayanithi Alagiri and director C S Amudhan for the same.
